What are the differences between OEM, Remanufactured cartridge, and Compatible new cartridges?
OEM Cartridges:
When you are looking for “Genuine, Original” cartridges, means you are referring to the OEM. OEM stands for “Original Equipment Manufacturer” or in other words cartridges made by the same company as your printer maker. Unless there is a specific offer, these tend to be much more expensive than reman or compatible cartridges.
Remanufactured Cartridges:
A remanufactured cartridge is an OEM printing cartridge that has been used but recycled for further use. It like a refurbishing process for the printer cartridge, where factory redirect the printer cartridges and refill the ink or toner powder to meet the printing standard. As most of parts are still the original OEM parts, the printing performance of remanufactured cartridge is close to the OEM. Also remanufactured cartridge is the option of earth environmentally friendly.
Compatible Cartridges:
Compatible Cartridges or "Generic" cartridges are usually cheaper than the OEMs and remans as they are normally made to be the alternative option for consumers with affordable price. When a cartridge marked as “compatible” it means it will definitely work with the printer they have been made to fit.
